New Zealand wines are the best!
Mouthwatering, refreshing acidity with strong notes of lime
Hello to the 6 new subscribers who’ve joined me on this journey💫
Folks, I have to visit New Zealand.
Let’s rewind a bit. My friend, Josh, sent me this picture yesterday and said I try it out.
So, yours truly went on a wine hunt. Now, riverlore is New Zealand wine. After two wine stores and trying really hard not to add other wine bottles to my cart, I ended up with a Babich.
No store had the riverlore. So I decided, in my usual style, to pick a wine from the same terroir. And three hours later, I decided to buy a ticket to Auckland.
Terroir is the region where wine is grown. This is a combination of factors such as soil, climate, and sunlight. Now that’s a smart fact you can share at a party.
Mouthwatering, refreshing acidity with strong notes of lime. Babich is a great example of a balanced wine - with smooth and even flavors.
The wine was so good that May and I consumed the whole bottle (well, it’s got a tiny weenie bit left) over a movie. And the first thing she said this morning was, ‘Babe, we have to get another bottle of what we had last night.’
I am a big fan of New Zealand white wines from today on. And they are a sure pick this festive season if you are thinking of wines to add to your shopping list.
One thing to note…I would focus on wines from the Marlborough, Hawke's Bay, and Central Otago regions. We can experiment later, folks.
Some New Zealand bottles you could try out?
Here are three highly regarded New Zealand wines you could try. I haven’t tried them yet. But one of them will at least make my Christmas wine list.
Te Mata Estate Coleraine (Hawke's Bay)
Felton Road Pinot Noir (Central Otago)
Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)
Now, go uncork a bottle. It’s the weekend.
Dozie ❤️
What else am I up to?
Making a list of wines I’ll try over the Christmas holidays. I’ll share my list next week. But if anyone has any recommendations, please share them with me. Our wine palate might differ, but I’m always up for exploring the good stuff. As long as you’ve personally tried it.
