What is Normal Taste Buds

I am thrilled to have you on board, and I sincerely thank you for subscribing.

Normal Taste Buds is an attempt at documenting my journey as I explore the world of taste. With a focus on alcoholic and non-alcoholic wine.

For most of my formative years, I was fascinated with the green colored bottle I always saw with the adults. This was Star, a popular Nigerian alcoholic beverage.

As I grew older, I learned there were different types of alcoholic beverages. And even more brands, flavors, and colors.

Working with Diageo Nigeria further exposed me to the beautiful and flavor-filled world of these beverages.

But, I have always struggled with the way these flavors were described. I always left a tasting session feeling intimidated or overwhelmed by the adjectives thrown around the room.

Normal Taste Buds is me trying to explore this world as a normal person would - without having to pretend I know what the sommelier says when she says she can taste the peat.

What the hell is peat?

So my goal?

Explore and review wine bottles. And try to learn, and share all I learn about the world of wine with you bi-weekly. The primary mode of communication will be this newsletter. However, I’ll try to release videos of my exploration process on TikTok & Instagram.
