Putting your wine's legs to good use

Happy Friday, folks,

The spring season is almost here. I can’t wait. This winter was hard on me for some reason.

I’ve got a nifty hack for you today.

Please forward this to ONE friend today and ask them to subscribe here.

What’s the alcohol content of the wine in your glass?

So you’ve got wine in your glass, but for some reason you want to find out if its a high-alcohol or low-alcohol wine?

Here’s a simple hack.

Gently swirl your glass of wine. You’ll notice a liquid rim form above the wine. After a few seconds, small columns of liquid (color will depend on the color of the wine) will begin to drip down the sides of the glass back into the wine.

These are called “legs” or “tears.”

The higher the alcohol content, the larger the legs.

How does this work?

Water’s surface tension is higher than alcohol. So water drips down first, and then the alcohol follows. So the higher the alcohol, the more conspicuous the legs.

Now, go uncork a bottle. It’s the weekend.

Dozie ❤️
