Storing your open wine bottles
The fridge, padawan!
Hello to the three new subscribers who’ve joined me on this journey 💫
Please forward this to ONE friend today and tell them to subscribe here.
Happy New Year everyone. How are you all feeling about 2024?
Something feels “good” about this year. Last year was a doozy for many people in many ways, myself included.
Here’s to hoping 2024 is good for all of us.
So, this Friday…I have a tip for you all. And then some questions.
Let’s go.
Storing your open whites and reds
If you aren’t planning to drink an open bottle (whites and reds) within 24 hours, then keep it in your fridge.
They’ll last longer - three days but not more than one week.
Oxygen is wine’s greatest enemy. Yes, it could further ferment your bottle and give it a more interesting flavor. But it also spoils the wine. And before you know it, you are downing a cup of red vinegar.
Keeping the bottle in the fridge slows the rate of spoilage.
If it’s a special bottle, invite friends before the end of the week and share a drink with them.
Some questions for you
Are there any particular topics you would like me to cover or explore?
Or do you have specific questions you want answered?
Finally, what’s the best way this newsletter can help you?
Now, go uncork a bottle, it’s the weekend.
Dozie ❤️
